36 weeks

Well, this is my 1st post, and I'm not really sure if I'll be able to keep up with this, but I'm going to try. I just thought I'd try and share my experiences. And if you're interested, keep reading!

I officially "turned" 36 weeks yesterday... actually, can you really "turn" into another week? I suppose you could - I mean, we use that phrase when we say how old we're "turning" right? For those of you who don't know, Steve and I are expecting our 1st child, after almost 4 years of trying. We endured many tests, appointments, frustrations, heartaches (every month!), and even surgeries...but it was all worth it. And in about 4 weeks (God-willing!!), we will meet our newest addition. A hybrid of a 100% Korean-American and a...uh... hmmm... what would I call Steve?! I know he has a bit of German and English in him. He doesn't even know! So, let's just just say our little peanut will be half-korean/half-white. :)

I can't even begin to tell you what a journey this pregnancy has been. For the most part, I really can't complain about the last 8-9 months. I haven't had any serious complications, other than the dull ache of walking around with a bowling ball/watermelon strapped to my belly. I call our child anything from "The Boxer," "The Gymnast," or "Super Mario Bro."....the last one because sometimes I felt like he was trying to get as many coins as possible by punching up on my stomach! And if you played the original Nintendo with the very 1st Mario Bro's, you would KNOW what I'm talking about!

I tell you what, though - what a social calendar we've had this year. Of all years to become pregnant and/or busy --- this was it. We have been busy every weekend since Memorial Day, not to mention a month long trip to Korea (which was fantastic!!); turning 30 this year; and then 2 wedding receptions to help plan and attend!! And now that football and baby shower season is in full swing, we've been busy with those. We've had the fortune of having 3 lovely showers, and attending 2 football games. Since I am a tailgate-addict, I usually go overboard with tailgating activities and food! With all the stuff we've had on our plate, I have to admit, I have never been more challenged in the drinking department than I have with this year. Being the only sober one can get pretty old...funny at times, but old, too.

Anyways, baby has since calmed down in the last week or two. He still moves around, but he's more adjusting than anything. May become like his momma, as I am a tosser, for sure!

His due date is November 24th -- 27 more days!
I have my 36 week appointment this afternoon, so I will post more afterwards.
I'll also try posting some pics, too... as soon I figure out how! :)
